Orange Creamsicle Cake Recipe

If you love orange creamsicle ice cream, you will love this cake. Whenever I ask my children what cake they would like for their birthdays, no question about it, they always select the creamsicle cake.

1 package Duncan Hines Orange Cake Mix
1 package Orange Jell-O mix
1 cup Boiling water
1/2 cup Cold water

***Orange Creamsicle Topping:***

1 package Instant vanilla pudding
1 package Orange Jell-O
1 cup Cold milk
2 tsp Vanilla
8 ounces Cool Whip topping

Oven Temp ~ package directions
Baking Time ~ package directions
Pan Type ~ 9 x 13 cake pan
Preheat oven and prepare cake pan as directed on package.

Bake orange cake mix according to the package directions. Use the ingredients called for on the package.

Poke holes in cake, after it is baked.

Mix orange Jell-O with boiling water. Add cold water. Dissolve and pour over cake. Refrigerate until cooled completely.

Beat vanilla pudding, orange Jell-O and cold milk until thickened. Add vanilla. Fold in cool whip and spread onto cooled cake.

Cake Flour:

Cake flour is milled from soft wheat that has a lower gluten content and higher starch content than all-purpose flour. It helps to ensure a fluffy texture in cakes and pastries. A substitute for cake flour is to use all-purpose flour, but reduce the amount by 2 tablespoons per cup.
