Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake, Steven and Becca birthday cake

The two great flavors of chocolate and peanut butter come together in this moist delicious cake.
Peanut butter is the ultimate comfort food. It's the one ingredient that brings memories of happy times and comfort (even from the simplest peanut butter and jelly sandwich on white bread).

1 3/4 cups Sifted cake flour
3/4 tsp Baking soda
3/4 tsp Salt
1 cup Sugar
2 Tb Shortening
3 Tb Creamy peanut butter
2 squares Unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup Milk
1 tsp Vanilla

Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~
Pan Type ~ two 8-inch layer cake pans
Preheat the oven. Grease pans and line bottoms with parchment paper, also grease parchment paper.

Add sifted flour, soda, salt and sugar, sift together 3 times. In a mixing bowl cream the shortening and peanut butter until well blended, add melted chocolate and blend well. Add sifted dry ingredients, add milk and vanilla.
Stir until all flour is moist, beat for 1 minute. Turn Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake batter into prepared cake pans. Bake until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
Frost this Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake with your favorite frosting.
