Shirley's Chocolate Sheet cake recipe is absolutely without a doubt, the best Chocolate Sheet Cake ever. It’s moist beyond imagination, chocolaty and rich like no tomorrow. Chocolate cake is made out of the basic ingredients that can be found in any kitchen.
2 sticks Margarine
1 cup Water
4 Tb Cocoa
2 cups Flour
2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Buttermilk *
2 Eggs, beaten
1 Tb Vanilla
1 tsp Soda
1 1/3 cups Sugar
Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~
Pan Type ~ 9 x 13 sheet cake pan
Boil the margarine, water and cocoa for 45 to 60 seconds. Pour into a large mixing bowl, add the
flour and sugar and beat for 2 minutes.
Add the buttermilk to the mixture. Add in the beaten eggs, vanilla and
soda. Mix well.
Pour chocolate cake batter into prepared pan and bake. Check cake for doneness with a toothpick.
