I love baking this apple coffee cake, it's quick to mix up and makes wonderful gifts for friends or relatives. Apple harvest season to me is all about baking, canning and storing, sharing of the bounty and getting ready for the holidays. Homemade Apple Coffee Cake is always a welcome treat for everyone.
3 Apples chopped into 1/2 inch chunks
1/2 cup Butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups Sugar
1 cup Milk
3 cups All purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
3 tsp Baking powder
Crumb Mixture1/2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 cup Butter or margarine
Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~
Pan Type ~ 9 x 13 inch pan or two loaf pans
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add eggs and milk. Sift dry ingredients
together. Stir into creamed mixture. Stir in about 1/2 of the chopped apple
chunks. Pour Apple Coffee Cake batter into prepared pan.
Top with remaining chopped apples. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over top. Bake homemade apple cake till done.
Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together. Cut butter into above mixture until crumbly.
