This cherry crunch coffee cake is so easy to make. You will wonder why you don't have it more often. A certain crowd pleaser, combining cherry filling on a delicate, buttery crust with crunchy topping.
2/3 cup Butter or margarine
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Orange juice
1/2 tsp Vanilla
2 1/2 cup Flour
2 1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1 (21 oz.) can Cherry pie filling
Crunch Topping1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Nuts
2 tsp Cinnamon
Oven Temp ~ 325°
Baking Time ~
Pan Type ~ 9 x 13 glass baking dish
Cream the shortening and sugar together. Add the eggs, orange juice and vanilla. Beat well. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Put half of mixture in glass a baking dish. Spread cherry pie filling over batter, plus 1/2 of topping nut mixture. Add the rest of batter. Top with the rest of the topping nut mixture. Bake Cherry Crunch Coffee Cake till done.
