Old fashioned oats

Egg lightly beaten
Buttermilk

Fresh or frozen cherries pitted and chopped |

Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~ 50 Min.
Pan Type ~ 11 x 6 3/4 pan |
Preheat oven. Butter pan.
To make Crumble stir together first 5 ingredients. Add
butter- using pastry blender mix well. Add almonds and oats mix and set
aside.
To make Cake sift first 5 ingredients; add butter; mix (with the pastry
blender) until ingredients resemble coarse crumbs. In a small bowl lightly
beat egg, buttermilk, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients; fold till smooth.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Scatter cherries over surface; sprinkle CRUMBLE evenly over top of cake.
Bake until cake has risen and is golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool
for 25 minutes.
