Great Grandma's spice cake made with cinnamon, brown sugar and raisins. For the weekends, this is one of the best cakes I've ever tasted. It was always a treat when we would go to Grandma's house for Sunday dinners.
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/3 cup Shortening
1 cup Raisins
1 cup Water
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Cloves
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Baking soda
2 cups Flour
Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~ 30 to
Pan Type ~ 9 inch square pan
Mix brown sugar, shortening, raisins, water, cinnamon, cloves and salt
together, boil for 3 minutes.
Cool, add the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix and pour Great Grandma's cake batter into prepared pan.
Bake this great cake until done.

Pot holders around your prize.
Jog to the nearest 90 pound neighbor
And leave her your 1000 calorie surprise!
