1 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
3/4 cup Granulated sugar
2 Tb Poppy seed
1 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 cup Water
1/4 cup Vegetable oil
1 Tb Grated lemon peel
2 Tb Lemon juice
Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~ 35 to
Pan Type ~ 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan
In an ungreased pan mix the flour, granulated sugar, poppy seed, baking soda and
salt with a fork. Stir in remaining ingredients except
the powdered sugar. Bake One Pan Lemon Poppy Seed Cake until toothpick inserted into
center comes out clean and top is golden brown. Cool poppy seed cake.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Excellent when served with orange sherbet ice cream.
