A chocolate sour cream cake with chocolate pecan icing, the famous Texas Cake. Texas makes them big and this cake fits the bill. A full size cake made in a 9 x 13 inch pan and frosted with an amazingly good icing.

2 cups Flour
2 cups Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Sour cream
1 tsp Soda
1 cup Butter
4 Tb Cocoa
Texas Cake Icing1 pound box Powdered sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1 cup Chopped Pecans
1/2 cup Butter
6 Tb Milk
4 Tb Cocoa
Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~
Pan Type ~ 9 x 13 sheet cake pan
Combine the first 6 ingredients in a small saucepan. In a separate pan, bring
butter and cocoa to a boil. Combine the chocolate mixture with the sugar mixture and
mix well. Pour Texas cake batter into prepared pan and bake.
(Size of pan and oven may vary baking time.)
Combine the powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Bring to a boil the butter, milk and cocoa. Mix well with the sugar mixture and frost cake while still warm.
