Recipe by Great Granny Vi. This is my favorite go to recipe when I need one that works for everything. Butter cream frosting is easy to mix up and work with.
1/2 cup Butter
2 cups Sifted powdered sugar
1 Egg yolk or egg beaters
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Flavoring of your choice (cherry, anise, coconut)
1 Tb Cream
Oven Temp ~
Baking Time ~
Pan Type ~ Mixing bowl
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the remaining ingredients.
Beat until my favorite butter cream frosting mixture is thick and creamy. Add more powdered sugar for frosting thick enough for a pastry tube decorator. Add your favorite food coloring if you like.
