Soft delicious apples with a crunchy brown sugar and cinnamon topping. Pair apple coffee cake with vanilla ice cream and you have a dessert that will please just about anybody.
2/3 cup Butter or margarine, room temperature|
1/3 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Sour cream
1 tsp Vanilla
1 1/3 cups Flour
2/3 tsp Baking soda
1/8 tsp Salt
1 Chopped fresh apple
1/3 cup Raisins
Apple Coffee Cake Topping1/4 cup Flour
1/4 cup Brown sugar, firmly packed
2 Tb Butter or margarine
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Oven Temp ~ 350°
Baking Time ~ 25 -
Pan Type ~ 8 inch round Cake Pan
In mixing bowl, cream the butter and 1/3 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in sour cream, vanilla and the egg.
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt.
Mix into creamed mixture. Blend Well.
Combine all of the topping ingredients until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
Spoon half of the batter into your pan.
Layer with apples and raisins and half the topping mixture.
Top with remaining batter, sprinkle remaining topping over the cake for a finish.
Bake Apple Coffee Cake at suggested temperature, check for doneness with a cake tester or toothpick.
Apple Coffee Cake is best served warm!!
