I received this recipe from my Aunt Fonnie (thus the name). Many years ago.
I was waiting at her home for my husband to arrive at the airport from
overseas duty while in the US Marines.
This cake is so wonderful and is best made 2-3 days ahead of the time
needed. It becomes very moist during this time. It also makes a wonderful
coffee cake!!! It is my all time favorite.
