The double chocolate cake was chocolaty without being dense or too rich. Herman cake is very soft; so soft you will need to wait until it cools before slicing.
3/4 cup Butter, room temperature
1 cup Sugar, white
1 cup Sugar, brown
1/2 cup Cocoa, unsweetened
1 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Herman Starter
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
3/4 cup Semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup Nuts, chopped
Oven Temp ~ 350°

Pan Type ~ 9 inch square cake pan
Cream together the butter and sugar in large bowl. Add eggs one at
a time, beating well after each addition. Stir all the dry ingredients together.
Combine Herman starter and vanilla, add alternately with dry ingredients to the sugar mixture.
Spread double chocolate Herman cake batter evenly into your prepared cake pan. Sprinkle the top of cake evenly with semi-sweet chocolate and nuts.
Bake double chocolate Herman cake till perfectly done.
